England's mountains green

First of all, I was was going to rant about how O'Hurley got robbed last night, but then all hell broke loose in London and somehow "Dancing with the Stars" seems less important by oh, a million times or so.

Not to be glib (as defined by the dictionary, not that jerkass), but I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner. The Tube has always seemed a likely target for terrorists, be they jihadist or IRA, and quite frankly, this one could have been a lot worse. They say the folks responsible are a sort of "franchise" of Al Qaeda, which means they're not really funded or overseen by the Big Bad Guys, whomever and where ever they may be. If they had a lot of Saudi money at their disposal, I dare say the death toll would have been much, much worse.

That's not to say that the death toll as it stands now (37) isn't horrific and sad. As with all tragedies, my thoughts are with the friends and families of all those affected by the bombings, for what it's worth anyway.

That being said, why is it our benevolent leader is the one of the very few heads of state to politicize the bombings by attributing them to people who are against "liberty." His comments seem much more driven by making a good soundbite for world consumption and much less about actually caring about the people killed. There's not a whiff of emotion in his statement. I think he really is incapable of caring. That's fucking scary.
